Gel Polish OEM Checklist: From Sample to Production

Use this checklist to keep formula, color, packaging and production decisions synchronized during a private-label gel polish project.

Project brief

  • Confirm product type and target market.
  • List the planned shades and estimated quantity per shade.
  • Identify formula benchmarks or performance requirements.
  • State the target launch window and shipping destination.

Formula samples

  • Evaluate application feel, viscosity, opacity and finish.
  • Test on the intended nail system and application method.
  • Record which sample or revision becomes the approved formula reference.

Shade approval

  • Review shades on the intended base formula.
  • Compare under consistent lighting.
  • Approve a physical reference when possible rather than relying only on photos.
  • Keep shade names, internal codes and artwork references synchronized.

Packaging confirmation

  • Confirm bottle, fill volume, cap and brush.
  • Check decoration method, print area and artwork dimensions.
  • Confirm labels, cartons, sets or inserts.
  • Approve physical packaging samples or proofs where appropriate.

Production handoff

  • Confirm final formula and color references.
  • Confirm packaging specification and approved artwork.
  • Align SKU list, quantities and packing requirements.
  • Confirm available documentation and inspection requirements.

Before shipment

Keep the approved specification, SKU list and packing plan together. If the project includes different destinations or multiple packaging versions, separate those requirements clearly to reduce last-minute rework.
